Pages will not delete on live site

Please can some one help me.? I can up load my web pages ok how ever for e.g in the web pages tab if i delete a page from my website then save the website & then preview it all locally, the website loads and view correct, but when i up load the site the page ive just deleted is still with in the live website, so my question is how do you delete a page?
